City of Boise Helpful Phone Numbers

The City of Boise has added a very helpful document to their website. Click here for a list of department phone numbers.

Tracks & Trailheads

The City has recently reiterated that it is the HOAs responsibility to manage the three tracts, and signs are an appropriate way for the HOA to discourage access from the tracts across the Castle Rock Reserve to reach the Ridge to Rivers (R2R) Boise City trail system.  We have formal neighborhood connections that are managed by MSH HOA or R2R - such as trailheads at East Castle Rock Court, North Quaryview Place, Hays Court and Solitude Court.  The City discourages social trails from the tracts and directs people to use established trailheads to slow the spread of invasive species and better protect the natural and cultural resources.  The City also encourages Morningside Heights HOA to discourage all access off the tracts and onto Castle Rock Reserve.

Weed Species | City of Boise Information

“Myrtle Spurge, (Euphorbia myrsinites) is a perennial often seen in Idaho xeriscapes and rock gardens due to its hardy nature and succulent properties. However, this attractive fleshy plant is one to avoid. Myrtle Spurge is registered as a List ‘A’ Noxious Weed Species in the Colorado Noxious Weed Act, and is designated for statewide eradication. It is considered an escaped ornamental in Idaho and can be seen lining the hillsides of Rocky Canyon Road and invading open spaces like Hulls Gulch, Table Rock, and Military Reserve.  It is a rapidly spreading perennial that is capable of spreading and projecting its seeds up to 15 ft from its host. As it spreads, it takes over other native vegetation crucial for the survival of foraging wildlife. Once projected from the host, the seeds can stay in the soil for up to eight years. Myrtle Spurge possesses a very toxic milky sap that can cause severe skin irritation and blisters. If ingested, this plant can cause severe stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting. This plant is poisonous to humans and pets, so please remove any Myrtle Spurge growing on your property.”

Other weeds in the neighborhood which are poisonous to people and animals include Hemlock, which is showing up all over the neighborhood, and should be removed.

Drive with Care

Please be considerate of pedestrians on the sidewalks and crossing the streets by driving the speed limit and slowing down. We have a number of children who live in our neighborhood. Do not put the lives of people in our neighborhood in danger; please slow down.

Dues

The mailing address for quarterly dues is PO Box 7984, Boise 83707.  To avoid late fees, dues are due the last day of each quarter for the following quarter. If you have a hard time remembering, you may pay the entire year in advance to avoid late fees.

Firewise

Morningside Heights is a registered Firewise community, however to maintain our standing we need participation from you, the owners.  If you’ve recently taken out a tree or are removing ladder fuels, please send a note to the board via this page so that we can meet our annual obligation to maintain our status.  Questions?  You can always contact:
